The Bassenthwaite Triathlon could not run without the kind, generous and enthusiastic supports of all our volunteers.

However, we are always in need to additional help to assist in making this wonderful event even better. This is due not just to the amount of work that is done by the organisation team, but also due in large to the outstanding contributions and commitment from our team of volunteers.

We know what makes events a success - and it is people, we are always looking to expand our team of enthusiastic, friendly and reliable people to ensure the easy going and professional atmosphere of the races continues.  If you think that is you, then we would love to have you come and join us.

Many of our volunteers work tirelessly through the year preparing for the event, but even if you can only help out on the day of the race, we would still like to hear from you.  Every little helps.

Benefits of being a Volunteer

Our volunteers don’t only create a safe environment for the athletes to compete in, but they also have a lot of fun doing it. Not to mention the sense of accomplishment that comes with being part of something which is really appreciated by the athletes.

Free Gear, Food & Drink for Volunteers

All volunteers receive a race day T shirt for helping at the event.  All volunteers are also provided with food and drink vouchers for the officials refreshment tent to make sure that they are fully energised for the day ahead. It's not only athletes who need the energy.

Volunteer Roles

Roles at the races are varied and change from time to time but include the following (which are just an example):

    Course set-up crew

    Venue set-up crew

    Drink Station team

    Swim Course Safety canoes

Bike Course Marshals (minimum 18 years of age)

    Run Course Marshals

    Transition area team

    Transport assistants

    Competitor registration team

    Athlete Recovery team

    Athlete Chip Removal team

    Course pack-up crew

    Venue pack-up crew

Volunteering as a group

Why not volunteer with a group of friends, workmates, triathlon club or community group? Why not run one of the feed stations as a club?

Volunteering as individuals

Alternatively why not just come and join the team and meet some new friends. If you are coming to watch, why not get involved and offer your services for a few hours.

We really look forward to hearing from you, and thanks for helping to ensure the safety of competitors and success of the events!  Just go to the ‘contact form’ page and let us know that you want to help and we will get back to you to let you know what suitable volunteer vacancies we may have.
